The American Dental Association Helps Consumers Identify Quality Oral Hygiene Products

Posted .

Maintaining a healthy mouth and strong teeth throughout the course of your lifetime is vital if you want to keep your natural teeth. Good oral hygiene includes consistent daily practices like brushing your teeth each morning and night, for at least two minutes each time, as is flossing at least once each day. Furthermore, you should also have a routine dental checkup performed by our dentist, Dr. Haslam twice each year.

The quality of your oral hygiene products can also be a factor in how well your dental regimen serves you. To help consumers make good choices, the American Dental Association instituted their Seal of Acceptance program in 1931.

To receive the Seal of Acceptance, a product goes through a rigorous battery of testing and research to make sure that it meets the Association’s high standards for safety and effectiveness. Approved products include the ADA’S seal on their packaging. The ADA also maintains a list of approved products on their website for your convenience.

If you live in the Corvallis, Oregon, area and you have an oral hygiene question or concern, we invite you to call 541-753-8365 to schedule a dental checkup at College Hill Dental Group. Dr. Ben Haslam and our team are pleased to help you with all of your oral care needs.
